About the Owners
Sarah Walczewski
Sarah planted her first garden at age 12 and has been playing with plants ever since. She worked as an occupational therapy assistant for 16 years, until presented with an opportunity to garden in 2020. She fell in love with the work, and left the health care field for greener gardens. She completed MSU's master gardener program in 2021. Her gardening interests include permaculture, xeriscaping, and native plants. She lives in NE Grand Rapids with her husband and son. When Sarah is not in the garden, she can be found hiking in the woods, hanging out in the bookstore, or rowing in regattas with her crew. She is honored to be one of the new owners of i garden, and is looking forward to helping clients design and maintain beautiful gardens.
Dulcee Boehm
Dulcee has always been doing projects outside with plants or animals. From a young age she was involved in agricultural 4-H, and early on gained an appreciation for tending plants for food and beauty. She is originally from a small town in mid-Michigan, and throughout the years has worked at several small farms ranging from an artisan goat milk creamery to an organic vegetable farm.
She is also an artist, and in 2018 earned a Masters Degree in Studio Art from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. When moving to the Grand Rapids area, she became involved in a community garden during summers then started working for i garden quickly after. Dulcee also recently did Master Gardener training through Michigan State University Extension. She couldn’t be more honored to be one of the new owners of i garden, and looks forward to both creating and tending gardens for all i garden clients to enjoy.
